Symbolic of the Art Nouveau period, these lamps are creations in the same style as those of Emile Gallé. Multi-layered glass, hot work, involves layering layers of glass of different colors by successively gathering them. First, the artist draws the design. This design then becomes a decorative motif that is applied to the piece to reproduce the ornamentation. Using a varnish, the worker covers the parts of the piece to be protected from acid attack. The piece can then be worked in various ways, with a brush or immersed in a bath.
